It was a lot of fun. They had 5 different setups. So we learned different things on each one.
Steve and Cliff are out there today doing the autocross. They should get a lot of seat time. More than a normal event.

Cage is all but done. I eed to drill 20 more holes or so, and my batterty powered drill isn;t up to the task. Off to buy a corded drill and have some fun.
****. I got the dril (a hitachi) which is great. now my problem is drill bits that work. I've already shattered the cheep 3/8" bit that came with my drill and the 1/4" cheep bit, along with my titanium bit have gone dull. it's only a matter of time before my 3/8" titanium bit goes dull.. Does anybody have a recomendation for a bit that won;t go dull in mild steel?
YES, LEARN TO SHARPEN THEM CORRECTLY AND REGULARLY
USE THE CORRECT SPEED AND DONT ABUSE THAT IS THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM
START WITH A PILOT DRILL AND BUILD UP TO THE CORRECT SIZE.
DONT PUSH TOO HARD, LET THE DRILL DO THE WORK.
You can;t sharpen titanium bits. The titanium nitride coating prevents it. The corded drill I have only has 1 speed. Fast. And You have to push to cut through this metal. It is tough stuff. I am, but the 1/4" pilot piece is the one that failed...
