Laughlin Weekend with SoCal MINI Maniacs
Laughlin Weekend with SoCal MINI Maniacs
Hi everyone.
I received a PM from Lex, president of SCMM, and he has invited MidCal MINIs to join them on their 4th annual run to Laughlin, NV. I have gone each year, and the folks with SCMM are a great bunch. I think MidCal should 'represent' and join them for this fun weekend. There's usually a run to Oatman, Arizona(where the burros roam the streets), and last year we enjoyed an evening river cruise under the stars.
The dates for this year's run is Fri. November 9th to Sun. November 11th. The host hotel is Don Laughlin's Riverside Hotel/Casino.
I will have more info in the next couple weeks as I get it from the SCMM boards.
Cheers,
Michele

We'll caravan out to Laughlin on Friday and have a little reception that evening at the Riverside Resort & Casino overlooking the Colorado River. On Saturday there is a planned drive through some desert twisties that will take us through historic Oatman, Arizona. Plans for Saturday evening are still developing. On Sunday you can hang out in Laughlin until you're ready to head home with all your winnings.
PARKING
The Hotel provides us reserved parking in our own MINI Corral. So don't worry about getting a door ding from a big 4x4, you'll be surrounded by other MINIs.
HOW TO BOOK YOUR ROOM
PLEASE BOOK YOUR ROON BY OCT. 1 TO GET THESE ROOM RATES.
We have a block of rooms reserved at the Riverside Resort on the Colorado River. Standard rooms (2 Queens) are $55 per night (regular rate is $75). You can upgrade to a river view room for an additional $15 a night.
To book a room, call: 800-227-3849
You must give them our group code: C/SCMMC
YOU PAY FOR YOUR HOTEL ROOM DIRECTLY TO THE RIVERSIDE RESORT
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO NOW?
You can book your hotel room at any time now and up until October 1. Once you book your room, please RSVP to Lex adams at: lex@scmm.org and include your name, email address, cell phone number and the number of people in your party.
Rooms booked after October 1 are subject to the regular hotel rate.

Jill & I made our reservations and sent Lex the e-mail confirmation. DJ e-mailed me & said he'd made his Laughlin hotel reservations too, so I sent Lex an e-mail on DJ's behalf. One of these days we'll get DJ on NAM.

Our Mid-Cal/So-Cal meetup in Laughlin was great times. Some of my favorite highlights were: crazy-funny Hornsby hard-cider story (tastes like azz), playing "spot the mullet" in the casino & being part of a gun-battle in Oatman, AZ. If I were to use two words to describe the 947 mile trek, I'd say "freakin' sweet". Here's two pictures which best represent our good times.
