MAG or Classic Mini???

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I was just inquiring about these two dealers. I'll be ordering a new R56 MCS in about a year, but I'm researching local dealers (Midwestern Auto Group in Columbus, and Classic MINI in Cleveland). I know Classic charges MSRP and offers 20% off accessories, but does MAG offer something similar (I'm in Lewis Center so MAG would be closer, but saving some cash takes priority)? Any recommendations?

I got my MINI from Classic because they offered me a shorter wait time. But Pat Cordray at MAG was great when we stopped in there, let us test drive as many MINIs for as long as we wanted. If wasn't for the wait time I'm sure we would have gone with MAG. I think you'll be in good shape either way.

Welcome to NAM.

I bought my MINI from MAG because they were close to home. Classic or MAG will both be the same price I believe. Classic does give NAM members a nice discount on parts. MAG gives nothing off. I buy any parts I need from Classic.

I bought our Mini from MAG a year and a half ago. I was very pleased with our salesman and how the transaction went. Unfortunately our salesman is no longer with MAG-Mini. I went in about six months ago to test drive an "S" and to inquire about trading up. The salesman I dealt with tried to low-ball me on the trade-in value of my car (said they were within $500 of KBB trade-in value [which was a lie] and then offered me several thousand below KBB trade-in value), basically he didn't care that I would have been a repeat customer and wanted to screw me on my trade-in and of course get full-price from me on a new "S". I walked out. From what I could tell it was more of a problem with that specific MA than with MAG in general, because except for that instance I've been treated with respect by both the personnel at MAG-Mini and MAG-BMW.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll be looking into Classic MINI because MAG is sounding "hit or miss," but I still have a year to decide... Any other comments or recomendations?

I've dealt with MAG for about 11 years, 1st with my BMW's and now with my MCS. I've heard the horror stories and the jibs and jabs, but personally they have always treated me with respect, dealt straight up, and provided excellent service and support when I needed it. I am considering adding a second Mini and will definately get it from MAG.
