Aaron, are you planning on having another tech seminar? I got a LOT out of the detailing one we had back in June...

I would like to do something like that whenever possible. If you have any ideas for stuff please let me know. We could do a autocross introduction, a suspension intro or all sorts of stuff...the detailing one was very cool. We plan on doing that maybe 2 times a year...
ac,

Kim (Kimini03) and myself really enjoyed the detailing clinic and got alot out of it as well. I think that a intro to autocrossing would very cool. I have been interested in getting into autocrossing for years and it might be something my wife might enjoy also.

I second AutoX... I missed the one they had on Sunday at the Historic Society (with the Miata club), but really want to do the next one in August... Aaron, do you know when that next one is?

I'd also be interested in knowing more about suspension systems and things like sway bars and the like- I know what they do in theory, but would love the opportunity to experience the difference first hand, if someone has them installed and can speak to the performance differences.

SWEET! If we can get an AutoX seminar going at August's MODfest, then that will be prior to that event...

EDIT: I found this on the Miata Club's web site in case anyone wants to see the track back from 2005. There's a Mini in the film, too!

Very nice video. Whoever shot that has some serious talent with a camera.

Judging by the links on the page, it was shot by Sean. He was at the last mod fest and i think did the video of Kim and her husband.

Hey, does anyone reading this have a Random Orbital polisher like the Porter Cable? That could be a whole detailing seminar in itself, I hear. Aaron, do you use one at the shop?

I'm sure Ted who did such a great job at the last detail clinic has one. Big bonus is he knows how to use one to great effect. Next modfest won't work for him either as he'll be on the left coast I think.

Dammit! Don't these people realize I have a CAR to clean??? How selfish of them to try to have a life outside of the Mini group!

I will see if I can get Sean to do an introduction to the basics of autocross at one of the modfest's....maybe sept?? I will see what I can do...I also want to have Ted do another detailing clinic in October....what other themes do you think we have? especially during winter when we're indoors? We have the space to set up a projector and stuff but it what would we do?? It gets real boring during the winter months of nov-april....maybe indoor tech sessions with performance, styling and suspension products??

Does Ted read these forums? If he has a Porter Cable, I'd love to see his technique in a seminar. if he does that, Aaron, be sure to stock up on whatever pads and polishes he uses beforehand, as I know that I'll probably end up buying a set.

Also, is anyone else planning on attending the Miata rally on Aug. 27? I have at least one friend (a Mazda guy, not a Mini) that says he wants to go, but it wou;d be really fun to see a bunch of us there, too.

I plan to attend I went last month and it was a ton of fun. Do not know if you have Autoxed before or not (I had not) but you get a ton of runs, which is not the case at most SCCA events.

Hey Matt! We are now finally signed on and will be checking in. Ted does have a random orbital that he just loves! (I am sure you can ask Chuck all about the results.) We will be back in town on the 17th so we will be at the next Modfest. You can ask him questions then.

Why don't you come out to one of the autocrosses that the Ohio Valley Region of the SCCA puts on? http://www.ovr-scca.org/ We usually have at least two Coopers there. We typically have one or two autocrosses a month in Columbus from April through October. We always have a novice drivers school at the beginning of every season for the beginners out there. We just had a two day Saturday and Sunday event this past weekend, it was a lot of fun.
