Porsche Club at MO

The regional Porsche club has a driver ed at MO early oct and bmw club has one late oct.. i was wondering if anyone has experience with either club can share their thoughts??

I had been to a couple of drivers ed with the bmw Pitt chapter many many years ago. I have a general idea of what the program is like.. just curious about the clubs and the organizers.. also curious on how the mini does on track!!

I'm in the Buckeye club of BMW CCA. I've been to Mid Ohio various times in my MCS and it seems to hold its own ok. After all, it's just a go kart with a roof, so it's pretty safe, exciting and fun to drive. I've also taken my MCS to Putnam Park in IN, with the Buckeye, Hoosier, and Windy City clubs. There are a lot of faster [and more experienced MINI drivers than I am] who can REALLY put it to the big Bimmers, Audis and Porsches, so I wouldn't let the bigger guys intimidate ya, as MINI makes everyone out there sit up and take notice.

I have never been to an HPDE BMW CCA School that was not extremely well run....professional and fun to drive in. It's why I keep going back...I usually do 3 per year [from early April thru late Oct.], sometimes 4, and I have never regretted it.

I have been to the National Capital Chapter of the BMW CAA driver school 3 times and going again in Oct. I found the teachers to be better than at the other driving school I have attended (not affliated with any car manufacturer). The BMW class is well organized. The run groups match skill levels, never in a lot of traffic, did not pass or get passed excessively. I talked to a few who had been to Porsche school and liked the BMW better. I think as a group, the BMW school is more conservative and harder to get to solo. The feeling I recvd from students and teachers that had been to both is that the Porsche school give less instruction and more likely to just let you go. Almost like the difference between a BMW owner and Porsche owner.

If you want good instruction, want to listen and learn. I would go to the BMW school.
