I don't street crace, but I do like to drive at a brisk pace when conditions permit.
Rally, why modify your car so it's unsuitable for use on normal roads?? I don't get it?
I never said it was unsuitable....i just didnt know if you guys were the kind to fly through twisties etc (as i have encountered on other MINI drives).....that's not really my thing on public roads. My car can easily handle everyday driving out on the street....i just finished up a 500 mile roadtrip this past weekend without problems. It's just not modified to be tearing up twisties.......but I'm okay with that cause i don't condone driving like that.
I guess it just comes down to your definition of the word "use" when you say "for use on normal roads". I drive at the speed limit on normal roads and the highway cause I'm in no rush to get anywhere and generally enjoy riding in my car. My car can easily make a left turn at a traffic light or drive down an on-ramp....so it's seems pretty suitable for any normal road use that i can think of.

I don't drive like at that on public roads either. I get my need for speed at Nelson or Mid-Ohio.
What I though you meant was your tires would rub & tear up your wheel wells because they stick out so far. Sorry for my misunderstanding.

That is what i meant......they would rub if i went out to nelson ledges or the autocross and took a tight turn at a motorsport-type speed....which is why i don't use them in that way.
When i posted....it was because i misunderstood rigidjunkie's first post to mean that he would have to drive slow due on the twisties due to camping gear which would imply that others were taking faster than normal turns on the drive. My car would rub in that situation so i chimed in saying that i would be going slower too. I didnt realize he meant the drive up to columbus.
AWSOME!!!! I might drive a bit slower than others as I plan to bring bike and camping gear for a ride after lunch!
Camping? Where? We slacked off this year's trip. But I know there are a couple weekends left to maybe go. Latest we've gone is the first weekend in Nov. (we get tooooo much snow up north).
Nice to see something close by for the people up north here
And Red Robbin I love.
I may have to mark my calendar for that one
Can I add you?

Date: 10/13 (fall foliage in full swing)
Time: 11:00 (opening time or around then)
Attending: kimoz, crashton, chxmini, rigidjunkie, reboopie, rallyMINI, ???
Well my plan is to head to Westbrach Park after lunch and get a ride in there, then drive over to Kennerdale in PA and camp there, get up Sunday morning get a monster ride in and then drive back to Columbus. Probably eat lunch Sunday at the Iron Bridge restaurant, it is a favorite of mine and I always eat there after riding Kennerdale.
My plans are to take the back roads north. Once in Doylestown I'll hit the 4 lanes for the balance of the trip. I'd guesstimate two & a half to three hours. Leave time 8:00 from the Hootersville Panera.
