Nelson Sunday Aug 5th...Anyone going?
Great time, untilll........
Hi all, I was having a great time at Nelson despite the rain until I lost my mind and ended up in the tires.

The reason for my post is I need a Dark Silver front bumber cover for my 2003 MCS. I am from the Cleveland/Akron area so if anyone has one for sale, I would be definitely interested. I know that someone at the event has pictures of my car after the encounter with the tires. Colin, I know you were in the same run group, it was the young kid home from N.C. that has the pictures. At first I was mad that he was taking pictures but hey if you can't laugh at yourself what can you laugh at.
I would like to see the pictures if anyone has them to post. If anyone has a front bumper cover please don't hesitate to let me know and also how much you want for the cover.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, sorry you found the tire wall.
Glad you weren't hurt or did worse damage to your car. I saw a guy roll a new Prelude into a ball there once at a track day.
What turn did you go off at? I looked at the weather & decided I'd rather do a fun day at Nelson in the dry. I was a weenie & stayed home.

Thanks, (insert commercial music here) I bought it on E-bay!!!
It really is the Aussie flag wrapped around it, my spawn got the picture while we were getting in line. If I remember I'll bring it to the breakfast, but please hold the wax.

I was supposed to go in that heat but was busy picking up my award (not bragging, fate is weird) We went out next and ended up getting off before the checkered flag, way too slippery
Almost lost the back end twice then, once earlier in the day. Colin was parked by us I believe he is "colinmini" on NAM. Sorry about the car, glad you didn't get hurt.
Crashton, I was at the pavement transition in the carousel. Going about 70, too fast for the weather. Looking in my mirrors, not paying close enough attention. Too enamored with my ability to let the *** end hang out. It felt like I was floating until.........

I'm so glad it's only the bumper cover.Speaking of which, try eBay & the marketplace here. They do pop up from time to time.
At the beginning of the carosel there is some patch work, that's what we hit, scared the ***** out of me. Colin was behind us and reminded me to keep the mini "straight" on the track
(when we were done). I heard a lot of people saying that they incountered fishtailing at many different spots. We caught another spell at the end of the long straight away as we barely braked. Was a very good learning experience.
Definately not like Fun Day in May under perfect conditions.

I think I was in line behind Kimoz waiting to go out and I saw the trucks come back in but it didn't registar with me that someone took out the tires.
Sorry, but glad you are OK. Cars can be fixed. Which turn is Carousel?
Really cool time. The MINIs should take over again in the fall
Well futrracr, I think the young kid you were referring to in post #26 was me or Sean. I am from TN though, not NC; anyway aren't you glad I took a couple pictures.
I'm sorry that you had bad luck and went off the track; my friend in the black MCS with the Alta light bar spun out and went into the grass in the exact same place you did but he was just going a tad bit slower so he stopped about 20 feet before the wall you hit.
So a few pics:

The spin out was on the run before me... I came on the carousel, maybe 35-40, and my *** end went out about 45 degrees... definately tense. For some reason, the carousel has different paving than the rest of the track, and it is a lot more slippery. It was a more tense day than I was hoping for, but it was still pretty fun.
That's me in the background on the picture of the helmet, and the far left mini in the group pics. The 19" rims/tires combo sucked badly in the rain, and I came in early on my second session.
