Best Dealership for Buying/Mid-atlantic. .
Trying to figure out what seems to be the best dealership to do business with for purchasing a new MINI Cooper S. I'm in the Williamsburg area and have been to MINI of Richmond already. . .needless to say, I wasn't that impressed with the level of service and lack of interest from them on finding me a vehicle.
I will probably be buying in the next couple of months and am willing to drive/fly to get the best deal. Are the "S's " going for under MSRP at all around here??? If not, does the dealer at least give some freebies?? . . .and I can't figure out why one dealership will require a $600 processing fee while another requires a $300 one. I willing to do my research first before I buy and want to have a stress-free, enjoyable buying experience. . . Is this possible??

My advice...
You need to talk to my boy Jason or my girl Heather at Checkered Flag Mini in Virginia Beach. Both are very knowledgable and low key, and I've had nothing but good things happen with the CF service dept.
Why don't you come hang out with us this weekend? Big pulley party/mini meet in Va beach at Abacus Racing on Saturday and Sunday the 25th and 26th of Feb.
As far as purchasing under MSRP... you will have a much better time buying if you just let that go. I assure you EVERY single one of us paid MSRP in the area, and it's one of the main reasons that resale is SO high on the Mini. I could sell my '03 MCS for about the same as I paid for it 2 years later!
Besides... why buy outside the area for a few bucks if they do discount it a bit... you'll burn it up in gas just getting there anyways.

I got my MINI from Checkered Flag and I would recommend them too. I'm from the DC area but the 4 hour drive was well worth it. I'm not sure if all the dealers do it, but we even got a big thank you package full of fun goodies and food.
Thanks for the input, I might try and come out this weekend to the pulley party. I feel kinda odd showing up to one of these and not having a MINI, though. .
Someone also mentioned that Classic MINI in Ohio was a good place to buy a Coop S. $125 Doc fee and that's it! Plus they throw in a bunch of freebies like floormats, glove box organizer, etc. .
I think it would be fun to get a one-way ticket and fly there, pick one up, and then motor home through the Applachians. . !! I haven't been down to CF MINI, so I'll definately have to give them a chance to earn my business.
Thanks. .
