bent a rim - need a shop
I bent one of my SSR Comps in a DC road construction area - why can't they do that kind of work at night?!?! I live in So MD (La Plata) and I'm looking for a wheel repair place that's fairly close....any ideas?
Well, there's a place on Route 1 between DC and Baltimore (closer to Baltimore, in Elkridge to be exact) called "Ye Ole Wheel and Welding Shop." Their slogan's a catchy one --- "you bend 'em we mend 'em"
I have heard only good things about them but have never had any wheels straightened/refinished by them.
Their phone # is 410-796-8400. You can find directions on Yahoo...
Hope this helps...maybe if it works out you could just give me the SSRs and we could call it even...

Thanks. I read about that shop but haven't heard anything good or bad. I figured it couldn't hurt to see if anyone had heard of them (or another shop a little closer). I've been thinking about getting the SSRs refinished anyway. I think they look great on a MINI (mine is also IB/IB) but their "anthracite" could be just a bit darker and I'd like to lose the brightness of the machined rim.
I'll give Ye Olde Wheel and Welding Shop a call. If it works out I'll give you a review......that'll have to do because I'm KEEPING the SSRs.
In fact, I already bought another so I can get them back on the car right away. I'm going to get the bent one repaired and then keep it as a spare.
