Just wanted to say HI to all the Mini owners out there. I'm currently looking for another car that would go nicely with my S2000. I am pretty firm now that it will be a mini, although I'm going to have to wait a few months before purchase. There isn't much point to this, but I just wanted to say hi and that I'll lurk around the forums and see what all the Mid-A Mini owners are up to!

Welcome aboard. You will find lots of good information on the MINI here at NAM. l lurked around here almost six month's before I bought my MINI.

You will find quite a few very informed MINI owners here who will help answer any and all questions that you may have.

Check out all the different threads, and I think you will find most questions already covered in previous posts.

I have not had a chance to take a Mini out for a test drive yet. When I bought my STi this past summer the dealer would not let me take it out and I ended up not enjoying it and sold it after two weeks. I want to take out MCS because that is the one I would be purchasing. I'm apprehensive about heading out to the Sterling Mini dealer because of what I've read on the forums about their attitude. Although I have picked up my father from there when he drops off his M3 for service. I saw an ad on this site for a dealer in NY who charges MSRP plus 500 for shipping and that sounds like a good deal compared to all the 'mandatory' add ons which I read Sterling puts on the Minis. It seems like there are many good intelligent people on this forum, which is why I decided to stick around.

Welcome aboard Dan! Just to clarify for you about Sterling MINI - we bought ours there in May of 02. They DO NOT sell their cars (that you order) over MSRP. The cars they have on the lot - are sold at MSRP - but usually with add on's. There is a difference...

Sterling has gone thru quite a change over in the past year. Go talk to Bill or Keith. They are great people and will not BS you - believe me - we know them very well..

Cagar, nice choice of vehicles! Are you on the S2Ki board? I'm on there as VA S2K.

Welcome to the boards. I test drove an S2000, and can not convince my wife that the increase in insurance money is worth it. Great cars.

Hey Cagar,

You'll absolutely just love the MINI more than any other car you have or will ever drive. just my 2 cents. Of course I'm a happy MINI owner! Highly recommended.

About MINI of Sterling, I ditto Donna's comments. I worked with Keith and he was just great. I also just stopped in the other day and had my oil changed (at only 1200 miles but the car is worth it), and was very happy with the service advisor, work done, and way I was treated, etc. They are a quality operation IMO. I heard they had some problems with earlier advisors, who are no longer there anymore.
