Super Bowl?
#3
Anyone thinking about driving to Houston for the Super Bowl???
It's quite an experience if you've never been.
(At that time, I hadn't even been driving my MINI more than a week. It was my first taste of MINI gawkers.)

>>Well I woudl luv to drive to see a superbowl but the problem is that they do not play the Superbowl in real weather. It always has to be in a warm place or a dome. Come on NFL be real men and Play in the cold. Football and winter go together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>>Bunch of Pansies
You said it! Because of the above criteria, it locks out cities that cannot promise 70 degree weather or a dome. That equates to millions of dollars that is spread to other cities when you have paid to support your team in a colder climate. Real nice NFL...Wuss!

>>You mean you'd like to see the Packers, Vikings, Steelers or Patriots tangle with a warm weather team in an Ice Bowl up at Green Bay or Minnesota. (Not saying that those cold weather teams are all contenders this year)
>>
>>As a spectator, you wouldn't last too long exposed to the cold. You'd be frozen in no time flat. You could build a fire under your seat but you'd need alot of fuel for it.
>>
>>I'll watch it at home in Hawaii and open the window to bring in the cold 78 degree weather for effect.
I'm quite sure the typically thoughtful MINIHune did not leave da BEARS off his list of ice-bowl teams deliberately (right??? MH feel free to back me up on this ). Heck, we got a nice new spaceship, errr I mean stadium just this past year, we are as Bowl Ready as can be! (Wait a minute, the team stinks, someone slap me for loving them Anyhow)
Sorry about my .02c, i sometimes forget that pro sports is NOT a democracy,

How long a drive was that for you???
The point I was trying to make is that if you ever get the chance to be in a SuperBowl town, go for it.
The experience is great.
It was all the more enjoyable because there were dozens of people checking out the MINI.

That I did. I had a ticket to the game lined up and was wondering if anyone wanted to caravan or carpool to Houston. It would have been two days each way.
Gee, I wonder what would have been better--the Super Bowl or the drive?
p.s. I have no interest in a Carolina-New England matchup and am not inclined to watch it for the commercials.
