Legal Mini Mods in Mass?

Hello!

Just put in an order for a 2012 MCS not too long ago, and have been reading through the mods section.

I wanted to know what mods will pass inspection in massachusetts, if at all?

I at very least wanted to attach an oil catch can, but seeing as how that is a modification to the emissions system, that may not pass either.

Is there anyone in Mass that knows these laws well?

Everything is legal as long you do not have a check engine light I believe...
mass motoringclub.com or Pete at Greasysgarage can recommend/install some great bank for the buck mods....

Also depends on where you take it, I went for my inspection yesterday and he just plugged it in to the OBDI II and that was all.

I have a Catch can and it doesn't cause any issues....Now then again if I had put my exhaust on before I went for my sticker then it may have been a different situation. But now I'm cleared for a whole year! lol

Here is a pretty good description of what it will take to pass inspection by the book.

http://www.mass.gov/rmv/inspect/540cmr400.pdf

If they catch you for anything it will probably be a loud exhaust which can be fought to a degree if it is not clearly way too loud. I'm not worried about mine (knock on wood) not passing inspection at all event with the mods I have.

I have a few small mods, most visible a DOS intake and a M7 strut bar. You obviously can't miss the DOS when you pop the hood.

Just got inspected and they said nothing.
