2002 MINI Cooper S w/mods
Year: 2002
Make: MINI
Model: Hardtop
Price: $5500
Mileage: 102081
Color: Electric Blue
Private or Dealer Listing: Dealer Listing
Location (Region): NorCal
In a past life, I owned and operated Defenders of Speed (DoS). It’s been quite a long while, since I have been active on North American Motoring. However, I wanted to let Y'all know that I’m selling ‘Blue, my prized 2002 MCS. I have loved this car to death since I purchased it in 2003. My MINI gets me to work on the couple of days each week that I’m not riding my bike to work and still sees the occasional spirited drive out in the twisties. The car has 102,081 miles on the odometer at the time of this listing. It has been well cared for over the years, gets oil changes every 3000mi, and runs great. Unfortunately, I don’t really give the car much time to stretch its legs these days.
I purchased the car used in 2003. It currently has the following modifications:
Engine:
• Revolution MINI Works cylinder head (installed at 41,300 miles)
• Schrick race cam
• Endyn ported and polished intake manifold and supercharger horns
• Wrapped Milltek header w/race cat
• Supersprint catback exhaust w/resonator and polished DTM-style tips
• Alta 15% supercharger pulley
• Ireland Engineering polyurethane motor mount inserts
• Texas Speedwerks polyurethane passenger side motor mount
• Screamin’ Demon Coil Pack
• aFe high flow panel filter in stock airbox
• Samco silicone coolant hoses
• Fumoto engine oil drain valve
• Dimsport dyno tuned to a reliable & streetable 210hp at the wheels
Wheels, Brakes, & Suspension:
• 17x7.5” Konig Feather wheels with custom MINI centercaps
• Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport 205/45R-17 tires
• Texas Speedwerks wheel studs and lugs
• Stock calipers painted blue with ceramic caliper paint
• Helix brass caliper bushings
• Way Motor Works stainless steel brake lines
• Power Slot brake rotors
• Hawk HPS Pads
• Retains the super beefy stock 2002 MINI rear swaybar
• Swift lightweight springs (offers ~1.5” drop overall)
• Bilstein struts (front & rear)
• Way Motor Works adjustable swaybar endlinks
• Hotchkis adjustable camber plates
• Hotchkis adjustable rear control arms
• M7 strut tower plates
• Powerflex front control arm bushings
Exterior Mods:
• OEM MINI Aero Kit upper grilles
• Grillcraft black powdercoated lower grille
• Rear spoiler removed.
• 3M silver carbon fiber look vinyl applied to roof and mirror caps (applied by Lyle’s Vinyl Styles)
• Black polyurethane roof rack pads
• Rogue Minis dragon eyes decals behind the headlights
Interior Mods:
• Whalen shift machine ****
• Short shifter (B&M clone)
• Auto Meter boost/vacuum gauge
• Cravenspeed FlexPod gauge/phone mount
• OEM MINI “cupholder” floor & boot mats (Canadian/UK/Euro-only MINI parts)
• OEM MINI rubber center console trays
• OEM MINI glove box organizer shelf
• OEM MINI cargo cover organizer
• OEM MINI R50/R53 spare tire
Other Disclosures:
• There is a very small, very slow coolant leak at the thermostat housing
• Small, very slow oil leak at oil pan gasket.
• Rear windshield wiper sprayer port is clogged.
• Paint wear on the interior passenger side door handle
• Driver’s seat has wear on the left-hand side lower seat bolster. (This is a common issue on ‘02’s & ‘03’s.)
• Car has original paint and has never been in an accident, but it’s a 17 year old car. The paint is fantastic for a car of this age, but has some stone chips and evidence of being driven.
PM me if you're interested!
-Clint

Bump.
I would really love to sell 'Blue to an enthusiast in the NAM community. However, the car is going up on SF Bay Craigslist first thing tomorrow and my vendor account is being closed out on 9/26/19.
If you have realistic expectations surrounding purchasing a very fun (but 17 year old) car, feel free to reach out.

Hi all,
I bought Ol' Blue from Clint almost a year ago and have decided to sell. It's such a fun Mini but i have a new VW GTi and dont have space for another car.
The car has mostly sat in the garage and driven on weekends . It recently sat for almost 7 weeks but started right up.
The only changes have been a new OEM spec windshield and a new battery. Everything else is as Clint describes... a nicely setup Mini and really clean for its age. Just wanted to put this out there to before i put up an official ad anywhere.
Price $5200 / Car is located in San Mateo,CA
