Mini R53: "Mk I" Mini Cooper S 2002 - 2007
Description:

R53 mini cooper airbox. Designed for a 3.5" ID air filter.

if your in NC I can print these, the cults3d link at the bottom is for purchasing the STL for printing

I used a injen X-1021-BB 3.50" Flange ID, 6" Base / 6.875" Media Height / 5.350" Inertia Top https://injen.com/i-30497685-injen-technology-supernano... a filter with a 3.5" ID flange, 5" base and 4" top should be enough

the airbox is similar to a JCW box without the rear noise port.

v3 update, tapered the rear to fit cars that have the plastic partition around the master cylinder. also added tabs on the back to hook onto the lower airbox section

also included my original prototype from many years ago, has a rear port that prints separately (glue together) I use tape on door foam seal on the back side to bump up against the factory plastic partition, drill a hole in the partition.

Awesome upgrade !
Goodluck with your sales on these !
Imo , a silicone hose plus this lid ( cut out back pannel) is the Best Intake.

both my R53 have larger throttle bodies, I tried getting a silicone intake to fit and gave up, no amout of heat helped... 1/2 pound of boost with the bigger intake and 0 pound boost with silicone, much bigger gains with the big TB. I also modify my tune to open the TB another 1 or 2 degrees (I forget it's been years)...

I also dont recommend anything that would expose the intake to hot air. I used to run a box that was mostly open, it sounded cool but but temps were too high these eatons dont like hot air, and they dont like any kind of air restriction at all. I also sell a larger snorkle to the radiator shroud I run that with this sealed box on my wifes car. My car retains it's JCW box minus the internal parts and the capacitor thing that fails.

That's just awesome!!!
Curious; Will you be offering a printed and ship part for those of us without a 3D printer?

I can if there's enough demand. Price would probably be around 75 + shipping depending on material and if a color is desired. ASA-GF has a bunch of colors and is engine bay safe

Wow - I hope so!
$75 USD + shipping is a modest price to ask for, IMO.
Keeping this ad bookmarked as finances allow (I've just spent another $600 on suspension upgrades to my Mini).

Hoping there much interest for you to get these into production. Best of luck with the sales!
