This is out of my buddies personal engine and was removed at 89k miles yesterday..
almost EVERY stock cam ive removed has had some form or pitting or even flaking of the coating on the lobes and this cam is in dang good condition still, it has 1x tiny spot on the tip of a lobe but yet it's still GLASS SMOOTH over it. 
the car ran great and had 0 issues,  it was only removed for a 469cam upgrade...
if your doing some maintenance and seem your cams pitted and flaking , here's a good cheap drop on and go fix.
