Description:
On hold at the moment (1/6/23).
2007 MINI Cooper S Convertible (R52) John Cooper Works (JCW). Red with tan/black interior. 6-speed manual. Fewer than 34,000 miles. Premium, Sport, Cold, Convenience Packages along with the JCW Kit and Cordoba Beige Soft Leather. Car also has MINI dealer installed driving lights. The car comes with the original window sticker as well as the John Cooper Works MINI Cooper S Tuning Kit Certificate of Authenticity. Car also comes with the complete owner's manual along with two keys. I purchased the car in May of 2020 from Orlando MINI and had it shipped up here to Massachusetts. It only had 15,345 miles when I purchased it.
For inquiring minds, the original window sticker price on this car was $37,150. From the clean CarFax (available upon request), first owner drove it for just over 10,000 miles and then it went to owner #2 in 2012 where I assume it was a not a primary vehicle. Not that it matters, but the second owners were octogenarians.
Since purchasing the car, I had maintenance performed when I got the car and have all receipts. Ended up replacing the passenger side motor mount (slight leak), thermostat (leaking), belt tensioner (piston leaking), strut tops (mushroomed), left and right lower control arm bushings (both were fine, but the right showed some play so replaced both) and both front axles (passenger side slightly bent and driver side inner was damaged and causing a vibration under acceleration). All work was performed at MINI Peabody, Auto Engineering (Lexington), Direct Tire and German Performance Service (Boston; best MINI service in my opinion). I also replaced the tires at just over 25,000 miles with Michelin CrossClimate2 215/45/17 tires. I also had a trailer hitch installed (for my bike rack; performed at Village European), Platypus license plate mount, some 25mm spacers (just like the flush look; these will be removed prior to sale for the new owner to install if they wish) and purchased MINI All Weather Motoring Mats and a cup holder (hate the OEM version though will include it with the sale).
The car is in excellent condition overall. Everything works perfectly, including the power top. I am assuming the previous owner always garaged this car, as do I (you can tell if a MINI has been garaged if the front/rear emblems are not worn). I am super OCD when it comes to the maintenance and detailing of my cars. For wear and tear, there is slight wear on the driver's side seat bolster (odd with such low mileage) and there is some discoloration in the carpet from original cloth floor mats that deteriorated.
This is a 5th MINI, my second R52, I had a non-JCW a few years ago, and I really love these cars. I want a hardtop for use with a roof rack (I’m taking my wife’s car and she’s getting a hybrid) so this car is on the market! Located in the metro Boston, Masaachusetts area.

Other information:
The factory installed JCW Kit was a whopping $6300 in 2007 and here's a nice little description from the interwebs as to what that got you over the base MINI Cooper S:
"The John Cooper Works package ratchets power up to 207 horsepower and 180 pounds-feet of torque from the regular supercharged S engine’s 168 and 162 respectively. In a car this small, that’s quite a lot of thrust, which makes the Mini Convertible even more deliriously fun. The added power simply explodes past 3000 rpm and is attained mostly by increasing the stock supercharger’s boost from 11.6 psi to 14.0, and upgrading the exhaust system to reduce back pressure. This equals an engine and exhaust that is far smoother and more free-flowing than the gruff and somewhat unrefined character of the regular Cooper S. This power is put to the pavement by the same wonderfully direct and mechanical 6-speed gearbox featured on the S. Upgraded sport brakes and a limited slip differential are also included in the JCW package."
