Description:
Eibach lowering springs for the Mini Cooper SE. These are not available from Eibach USA and were purchased Tuner Shop in Germany. The front springs are 30mm lower, are linear, and are the same part number used for the Cooper S. The rear springs are 20mm to 25mm lower, progressive, and the same part number used in the Clubman. You can choose to use a 5mm spacer that comes with the kit or not.
I have ST coilovers on the car and wanted to give the Eibach springs with stock dampers a try. I wanted a smoother ride. It is smoother with the Eibach springs but I decided to go back to the coilovers. I had this on the car for less than a week so it is LIKE NEW!

I’m interested in buying the springs, but have a couple questions
I am on the fence, between the lowering springs vs the ST coils.
I’ve had lowering spring on prior cars and I’m trying to avoid the “bouncy” ride commonly associated with springs. I also want to improve the handling which for me includes reducing roll. So I know these can’t be magic, but I’m interested to hear if these areas improve and by how much once installed.

The ST coilovers are stiffer and have less rebound. You will feel all of the bumps in the road and on some parts of the interstate that look flat and smooth, the car will bounce as it oscillates with the unevenness caused by semi trucks. With the Eibach springs, I didn't feel this at all. I purposely test drove it on this section of interstate to see if it "fixed" that problem.
On the interstate, the Eibach springs are better. It is smoother and feels like stock. In the corners, the Eibach springs perform better than stock and actually, just about the same as the ST coilovers. My only complaint with the Eibach springs was the suspension travel in the rear over big bumps in the road. I wouldn't describe it as bouncy but it does travel more but only in the rear. The rear springs are progressive while the front springs are linear. The ST coilovers tend to snap the rear back into place while the Eibach seem to be more compliant and provide a more comfortable ride.
The spacers aren't wheel spacers. Some Eibach kits come with these spacers to increase the ride height. The second picture the "rubber pad" is the spacer. I didn't install this when I tried out Eibach springs.
As far as the alignment goes, I have all stock arms and I'm within spec.
Honestly, if I had test driven an SE with Eibach springs and then another with ST coilovers, and was asked if I wanted to spend $200 on the Eibach springs or ST coilovers for $1300, I would pick Eibach hands down.
