This was my commuter car for many years and it's engine has run its course.  I missed the recall for the timing chain due to moving and didn't get the notice in time - Mini did not honor the recall.  Anyway, it's got the timing chain issue, the typical oil leaks, and I believe the chain may have skipped a sprocket or two.  The timing seems to be off as it's very hard to start.  It will intermittently start up and run fine, but after driving for a few moments it will throw the "engine operating at reduced power" and I wouldn't drive it anywhere until it's fixed up.  I don't have the time for a project and my mechanic says it's going to take way more $$ than it's worth to me.  He suggested replacing the engine vs. fixing this one.

That said, this car has 126k miles and has never been in an accident.  I've replaced tires and given it a brake job in the last 20k miles or so.  They are Hankook tires.  I've also replaced the parking brake cables and the rear hatch handle assembly.  It also has a brand new battery.  It's got a white exterior with black/silver interior that's in very good shape given the age of the vehicle.  Sunroof that has never leaked and it has heated seats.  It also has the Sirius satellite audio systems with blue tooth and navigation.  Also it literally has a brand new battery that the shop put in it to evaluate the engine issue.

I think it would be a great buy for anyone looking to do an engine swap or complete tear down/rebuild or certainly for parts.  

The car is located in Southern MD and looking for a fair offer.  I assume it's worth somewhere between $2500-$3000 given that similar vehicles with "good" engines are going for $7-8k.
