It now seems the K&N conical air filter (listed separately) was part of this Racing Dynamics' Cold Air Induction kit as was installed early in 2006:

 Instead of selling the filter alone, I'm now offering the entire CAI kit, including filter with aluminum transition tube, heat shield wall, altered OEM S-spec partition plus sufficient donor OEM rubber weatherstripping to replicate what is shown on R-D's website images. Also noting, the heat shield wall attaches to existing holes in the OEM airbox lower section plus to existing firewall screws shared by the partition. No other mods are required with the complete kit offered (relief notches required to clear carbon fiber crossbar are not related to this CAI kit)
