Description:

The MMI Prime is a box that sits behind the dash and connects between the factory stereo and the media display screen, allowing you to add wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto to your system and quickly switch between the factory menus and the CarPlay / Android Auto screens. I purchased this from another user here without doing enough research, and learned that I needed the "NBT EVO" version for my car (this is the "NBT" version), so it's back up for sale. The previous owner had this installed and working on a 2017 Mini Countryman S All4 (F60).

Since that time, I've installed a similar box on my car and really enjoy being able to use Android Auto for Google Maps, Spotify, local phone music files, etc!

BimmerTech sells 4 versions of this box for Mini/BMW cars, which can be confusing:

  • NBT / NBTEVO ID4 / ENTRY / ENTRYNAV  <-- this version
  • ENAVEVO / NBTEVO ID5/6
  • CHAMP2 / CIC
  • NBT / NBTEVO ID4 - specific to I01(i3)
If you go to their site at https://www.bimmer-tech.net/category...y-mmi-retrofit, you can enter your VIN and it will tell you which version you need. I believe this unit is around 2 years old, before they started painting them blue. At that time they only supported NBT vehicles (also confirmed by the helpful BimmerTech support), making it equivalent to the first type above. Please check to ensure it is the right part for your car.

BimmerTech sells these for $749, and also suggests a $49 coding cable and $49 coding to activate the AUX port (which MMI Prime uses internally to send the audio through the system). In my car the AUX port was already enabled so it wasn't necessary, but I understand that if you have Bimmercode you can also do this part yourself and avoid that cable and coding fee.

All cables are included and in good condition.
