Anybody know of someone who has a JCW who might consider selling it even if it’s not listed for sale yet? Lol.

That’s dedication. I’m looking for ya. There’s been a serious drought on CL. Definitely keep bouncing around FB, maybe better luck there, though it’s more of a PITA.

It’s almost like they went extinct. I can find a few GP1s every month but they are overpriced in comparison to a JCW. I have a lot of people looking for me right now. Maybe I should offer a finders fee lol. As of right now I’ve only located one, and I may go for it even though I always feel I can find something better.

I have to wonder if finding a nice S or JCW will be more difficult than finding a nice GP. Majority of people that bought S & JCW’s were using them as daily drivers so most of them will have higher mileage and likely tired. I’m sure a handful of nice ones remain in the hands of collectors and or people that have multiple cars and don’t drive them as regularly, the difficulty is that a collector will likely know its value and ask a premium so you’ll be stuck spending more or be patient until one slips through cracks.

GP OTOH were mostly second/third cars and majority weren’t driven nearly as much hence nice examples still exist. Since they were also a low production car many took better care of them knowing they would hold value in the long run.

Thats an excellent point and most likely true.

I’ve been talking to the dealer with that car since it was listed. He’s pretty flexible on that listed price but it’s going on BaT soon. If it was a later year like an 05 or 06 and a JCW I probably would of jumped on it but there’s quite a few very low mileage early r53s listed for well below $8k so I can’t justify his bottom price of $24500 right now.

Here’s another, you might need to move quick on this one though: https://www.andymohrhonda.com/used-B...RE33413TD60289

Yeah $24.5, you gotta really want a GP for that money. Patience will definitely bring you a nice medium to lower mile JCW for less than half that. Heading into winter, there probably won’t be many offerings, but spring usually is a good time to see more available. If you don’t need it as a DD, I would kick back, you’ll know it when you see it. It’ll appear out of nowhere, just be ready to pounce. If it’s out of state, I used lemonsquad for a PPI $179 (150 pics, diagnostics, road test) and mercury auto transport, top load, for transport, they were awesome. $725 which was 3-400 lower than most others that couldn’t even guarantee top load, and most are pretty shady. Mercury had a zillion great reviews on FB and Google.
I didn’t think flying Boston to Denver was justified for a vehicle under $10k. Driving back was out of the question, too many potential problems obviously. Mine was actually better than I expected from the PPI.

I contacted the dealer this morning to get pictures before they posted any since it’s still going through detail. For the price it’s not bad considering the miles, but it definitely isn’t the cleanest car.

Anthracite and aero definitely makes your job a little harder, unless you live in England.

I would of been happy with just one of them. I’m willing to pay for the right car, but obviously GP prices kind of set the standard so the price will always be less than a GP with similar miles.

Definitely a nice car but I’ll have to pass due to the Lapis blue leather interior.

Bump. I have a really good option for a car as of right now but just want to see if anyone else knows of a car or might consider selling theirs before I commit to this one.

haha okay. It’s decently optioned for a 03. I prefer the facelift updates, a jcw or a S with a lot of jcw parts and basically fully loaded in options.

We have a 05’ Dark silver JCW performance package 210hp, JCW brakes, carbon dash and Aero kit with 96,000kms potentially going up for sale. It is located just on the other side of the border in Vancouver BC. I have access to a customs broker and shipping if needed. Just thought I would put it out there.

From what I’ve read it can be a pain to transfer everything to the US from Canada. I could be wrong though. I’m sure customs and shipping to Charlotte wouldn’t be cheap though lol.

$1500-2k minimum for transport unless he’s got something cheaper. It’s basically coast to coast if not farther.
