New Cooper S Owner in Madison, WI
Hello!
I just purchased with my wife a new '11 Cooper S in British Racing Green from MINI of Madison. Had an absolutely wonderful buying experience from Sean Schimmel - I highly recommend you seek him out if you're looking to add another to your stable.
When I had a Jetta GLI I used to cruise around with the Chicago MINI club, but now that I'm in Madison with a MINI this time I'm looking forward to getting to know some MadCity MINI folks.
Without further ado, pics!
(new 17" conicals with Continental Extreme DWs to come...)
(forgive the double post in 1st gear)

First thing you have to do is join BMWCCA, with that you'll then want to select Badger Bimmers as your local chapter. It's forty bucks a year, but the magazine alone (Roundel) is worth it. With the membership, the track days are available to you--they go to Blackhawk 2-3 times a year, and Road America every fall. Blackhawk is great for MINIs, Road America really favors the high HP cars, but it's still a blast in a MINI. And the BMWCCA is pushing to increase membership--MINI owners are very welcome there. In fact the chief instructor used to run a MINI with the club.
It's Oct 1 and 2nd this year, it's 260 bucks for one day, 425 for two. That includes a ton of track time, with an instructor, as well as classroom time. If you've never had any time on the track, do both days--you'll learn a ton! It's a fantastic experience.
My car is in the process of some serious work, but I have every intention of being there both days. They'll be at Blackhawk July 25th--that's a more laid back one day event--I'm going to TRY to make that, but I'm not sure if the car will be ready by then--fingers crossed it will be, it's my favorite track.
