Caravan to Minis on the Dragon?
Caravan to Minis on the Dragon?
First let me introduce myself as a new Madison Mini owner, I purchased a 2011 MCSC (Burnt Orange) about three weeks ago and am active on NAM.
I missed the opportunity to meet some of you last week and am looking forward to the next local MINI gathering.
Chari and I just booked a room in the Apalacian Inn April 26-May 1 to attend Minis on the Dragon. I see seven Wisconsinites made last year's event and was wondering:
1. Whether there might be a caravan either out or back. We will be headed out Monday and returning Sunday, with a possible evening stop in Paducha, KY, Monday evening. Great quilt museum there and an interesting old river town about 500 miles on the way to an 850 mile destination (taking the Paducha route).
2. Whether anyone else is interested in staying at the Appalacian Inn B&B.

Rooms are $125 a night including country breakfast. At this point two more rooms (out of 5) are available. Trip Advisor ratings are excellent. The B&B is a 5 year old log home. The Inn is 30 minutes from Fontana and 45 from The Dragon. It looks as though all the rooms in Fontana are booked,

Hi Tom,
I'm in the Milwaukee area and went last year with my youngest son. We had a GREAT time! Once we got there and hit the roads his commit was "this is like a roller coaster". I hope to go, but still not sure if it will be possible. Enjoy the area, it's a blast
