JCW MC and MCS difference?
JCW MC and MCS difference?
Hey all, I was just wondering what the difference in the MC and MCS JCW suspension kits are. I'll have a whole HSport competetion sway bar set and M7 USS when I do the suspension and I was wondering if I should get the MCS because of the sway bars.
When you order, just order the springs and dampers, no swaybars. I don't think they come in true "kits" where everything is in one box. I got the springs and dampers only for my Cooper, no swaybars. If you have a friendly dealership / parts person it shouldn't be a problem to get just what you want.
Oh, the JCW suspension comes with sway bars? I guess I didn't realize that. I was just wondering if the MC and MCS were different because of the difference in sway bars between the MC and MCS. Hm.
From JCW discription of the suspension:
So, It's looking like with my HSport sway bars I should just get the cheaper MCS kit, no?
The Sport Suspension kit for the MINI Cooper S includes four McPherson strut shock absorbers and the required mounting parts. For the MINI Cooper the kit also includes two stabilizer bars. The coil springs need to be ordered separately, depending on the options installed on the individual vehicle.
The JCW suspension does not include a swaybar. If you have a stock MCS, when you add the JCW suspension, you will continue to use the swaybar that comes with it. If you have a stock MC, you will need to add the MCS swaybar in order to meet the same spec.
If you already have an aftermarket sway bar, you can continue to use it. The JCW suspension is struts & springs only, but they are mated to your specific MINI. The VIN number of your MINI is supplied when ordering, and the specific parts used are matched to your MINI, based upon the options you received from the factory. I believe there are 4 different rates for the MCS, and I another 4 for the MC.
