Pick up your JCW-MCS in the UK...?

Can you pick up your JCW-MCS from Mini in Oxford UK or from JCW UK drive it in Europe for 2 weeks then export it to the USA ?

I suspect we will need to have the USA export papers, title papers, tag and insurance as needed for European driving and it's final resident state of Florida and USA driving insurance. Ideas on Insurance Co's and brokers?

We already know the shipping company and their costs but we don't know if it would be legal to drive in the UK and Europe for a 2 weeks if the vehicle is brand new and never registered anywhere. Used vehicles are fine, but this one will be picked up at JCW in England.

Anyone attempted this ?

Any experience in this ?

We have exported my M6 to Germany and then back to Florida but we are not sure about a brand new car bought in England designated to stay in Florida.

I just moved over to the UK in April in fact I live only about 40 minutes from the Oxford plant. My recommendation, DON"T BUY ANYTHING IN THE UK, PERIOD

Unless you are independently wealthy or don't care about wasting money anything you buy over here including cars will cost you close to double what you pay for it in the states. If you are interested in doing a buy drive trip buy the car through a service that specializes in that sort of thing. The service will probably recommend that you buy and pick up the car in any other country in Europe other than the UK.

Gasoline over here costs 7 bucks a gallon so don't plan on doing much driving while in the UK. I really don't understand how the brits raise families, put their kids through college or just carry on a normal life the cost of living over here is frieghtening and there really aren't any benefits unless you like fish and chips!

BMW and Mercedes have these programs, but I've never heard of them from MINI.

I asked Miniusa recently if a European Delivery Scheme was in the works...I was told it was "under review".

My old boss used to use that one... Roughly translated it means "You have a snowball's chance in Hell."

Really you would be far better off picking one up in Germany or any other country than the UK. In a few years the government over here will figure out a way to tax the air these people breath, and you know what being the good polite blokes they are, they will suck it up and pay for it without a single complaint.
