im sure you can put it where you like but there probably wont be much room in front of the tacho as the challenge cars have a racing steering wheel

Dumb location, especially for a performance related part.

Well, if you look at the center of the dash from the driver's seat, you don't see the road straight ahead, but the right-hand side of the road. Which is also why I barely look at the speedometer.. Not a good place to mount.
If we could somehow mount the driver's seat to the middle of the cabin and convert the speedo to a tachometer...

That shift light would work well with Australian-spec cars that have a HUGE tach where the speedo is in most cars and the speedo on the column due to regulations in that country.

Currently under development at G.E.'s secret testing facility. Mil. Spec. of course. If I told you any more, I'd have to kill you.

looks like something they threw together with parts from Radioshack!!!

id guess the idea is that you can see it out of the corner of your eye, it should be very bright.

it would be rad if it were integrated in our present tachometers

all you would need is the LEDs, and the "brain", the rest is already there.

theoretically a fairly cheap yet trick looking mod.

Is that real???? Where and how do you get that? I've been wondering why that isn't intergrated into the stock tach to begin with, it looks like it has the space for it anyways.

Theres a guy in Ireland that does them. Unfortunately you have to send your tach for conversion.
He's on the board and mini2 I think his name is SIre or something like that. Do a search on tach shift lights.

... and you tend to drive in the direction that you are looking. If I'm on a track I wouldn't want to look in any other direction than the one I'm going. I'd rather keep my eye on the tach... straight ahead.
