04 JCW with Alta Intake

Anyone have this set up and care to comment on it? I did a ride-along in an 03 "S" with the Alta intake and loved the sound and extra umpf compared with the stock "S." Just curious what that extra air flow does with the tuned settings from John Cooper Works. Do you notice less backpressure in downshifts? Is the smoothness under acceleration compromised? In short I guess I'm wondering if the feel and performance of the JCW is changed in any category beyond just pure hp and torque?

Alta on JCW

I have this intake on my 04 JCW Cooper and I am very pleased with it. Increased H.P., increased torque, and also increased supercharger whine. Which is music to my ears, but I have heard some people say that the noise bothered them. Whutsup with that?

I would think it would perform about the same as a JCW intake with its flap modded to be open all the time.

My flap hasn't opened since installation. Nobody has ever heard of this - dealer response. 29,000 miles of driving and it hasn't worked. Dealers should sell cars, not install parts.
