The Origin of John Cooper Works & A Look at the First JCW MINIs - MotoringFile

Found this new historical retrospective YouTube video on JCW/GP by MotoringFile.
Not many views so far -- although a few recognizable commentators. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting the link- a peek into R53 history, and a channel I hadn't known about. I've long wondered what the story was with the Bertone relationship.

Another visit with Mini heritage- Here is an audio interview with Charlie Cooper on 'Classic Heart' BMW podcast:
Classic Heart' BMW podcast #25, 5/24/2023
mp3 audio, 45 minutes

(The larger BMW Group Classic site is itself a trove worth exploring.)

^^^ Interesting interview with Charlie Cooper, continuing racing traditions with support of father Mike and spirit of grandfather John.

Also agreed, nuggets of historical information still can be found on BMW's site, including circa 2006 documentation and images posted by BMW's Press Group back then. I downloaded these long ago, since old web links tend to disappear. For those interested, here's that link: BMW PRESS KIT: 2006 MINI COOPER, COOPER S AND CONVERTIBLE

Wow, a resource for official BMW publicity materials dating back over a decade- very nice!
