Bad Transmission

Ordered my 2024 JCW F56 manual transmission waited 3 months and finally picked it up this past December. 2 months later I noticed a random squealing noise in 1st and 2nd gear. Took it in to the dealership with a little over 500 miles to get it looked at. It was diagnosed with a bad bearing in the transmission and needed to be replaced. The transmission had to come from Germany and would take a month. After a month passed and the transmission was replaced they found out the clutch and flywheel needed replacing. I finally picked it up last week to find out the new transmission is bad as well. Anyone else out there having this issue with a new JCW? I find it strange that both transmissions were bad and am not hearing more about this with others?

Sorry to hear about your transmission issue. Never heard of this happening before in a new Mini. Please keep us up to date on your progress.

I have only seen a very few with this issue. It is very frustrating. I dropped the car off last Friday and 2 technicians were able to replicate the sound. I am waiting for an answer from BMW/Mini. Hopefully something today. This is getting ridiculous! I just want my car back so I can enjoy it!

Well after a total of 3 months at the dealership for 2 visits with the same issue. 2 replacement transmissions, a clutch and flywheel replaced. Mini has determined it is a bad/defective engine with bad bearings. They are replacing the engine this week. The car has 964 miles on it. I am mostly positive that this will fix it but not 100%. If the issue is still present after the engine is replace they will be purchasing the vehicle back from me. I will be moving on to the 2024 Nissan Z performance and be done with Mini for good this time. I hope this fixes it as I love this car.
