Error code P12a2
Error code P12a2
The wife's n14-powered JCW loves to throw codes when I am out of town. She left for work the other day, got out of the neighborhood, and was thrown a p12a2 code. The car lost power and shut off. She was able to get it started back up and return it home to the garage to wait for me. This forum is the first place that I have been able to find any mention of this code in relation to a Mini, and I saw someone mention it as follows
Is this an accurate reading? Anything that I have found so far has loosely mentioned fuel system issues(rail sensor or HPFP).
I know what the code is as I recently installed an ultra-gauge in the car. OR should I get a different reader when I get back to the car on Tuesday to see if anything else is there?

Service Notes
1. If a malfunction in the charge-air pressure control, barometric pressure sensor, or throttle valve is present, repair these first
a. Check operation of wastegate frequency valve (EPDW wastegate)
b. Check operation of wastegate
c. Determine whether an accelerator pedal module fault is present
2. Check wiring harness between DME and charge-air pressure sensor
3. Replace charge-air pressure sensor

Update on this issue for anyone interested. The code was not correct. When I got home from that trip I started the car and it ran fine for a few minutes. I took it to run an errand and everything was fine until I pulled back into my neighborhood. Car shut off as soon as I turned in. I pushed it back to my street and let it sit. It started up no issues about an hour later for me to pull it in the garage. I started it the next day after changing my gauges on the ultra gauge to see fuel pressure. It ran fine for about 3 minutes, then the fuel pressure dropped rapidly until it shut off. The pump in the tank no longer primed after that. I googled more and found out that there might be an issue with the solder on the fuse pump relay which is fixed in the JBE. Removed the JBE, had an electronic repair shop fix the solder on the relay and then they put the boards back together for me as I had cut the studs(do not do this unless you have great soldering skills). Got that back today and back in the car. Fuel pump primed as soon as I connected the battery back up. Car has been running like a top in a few different errands that I have run since.
