So I finished in 2nd

1st Lexus IS-F V8 (416 Stock Horsepower) 40.809
2nd Mini JCW L4Turbo (228 Stock HP) 40.871 (.062 slower)

Was faster every run but one...out of 4 runs. I am thinking the taller 245/45/17's (even tho they are wider than the 225/45/17s) are too tall...25.7" vs 25". I know it isn't a binch...but I think
it is making a difference. I also had to raise the spring perches to fit the taller tires. I think I can fit the 245/40/17's up front which are only 24.7" and they will lower the Mini .5" without even adjusting the suspension.
They will also be wider by .4". I will use the taller 245/45/17's on the rear and the 245/40/17's on the front...OR...I just might run these until they are done and decide later.

I also still need to fine tune my driving some more so I should try it with these tires since I have been in 1st twice and 2nd once...gotta make myself a bit more precise...

Always interesting to read at your journey and "serious investment" about time and money in this project. You seems to have a big pile of tires and a lot of other bits to choose from depending of your daily mood LOL.

Actually ran the 225's and had someone who bought them off me while they still had some useful life left in them...now the 245/45/17's have not seemed to add performance with the Mini because of sidewall height and having to raise the suspension. I do think the 245/40/17s will be the ones that help all around. In the meantime, I will hone my driving on the 245/45/17s for the remainder of this season...maybe it is me and not the tires... ;-)

I do have the stock runflats and rims for everyday use … the ones you see in the pics
