Rear Headrest Positioning

Saw the interior 'rear seat' photo of a 2016 'S' Convertible
and noticed the head rests sat much lower than mine are
able to be positioned. There is a mid-way 'stop point' that
doesn't allow the metal rods to disappear from view, as is
the case in the 2016 'S'. I'm able to remove the head rests
quite easily by activating the plastic 'press release' button
on each of them but lowering them when reinstalled can only
be to the standard mid-way position. Any way to over-ride
the 'stop points'?

After posting above I realized that the two plastic discs in the
center of the rods can be easily removed once you push the
small pin through and out. Now I have no problem lowering
them all the way to the top of the backrest.

Lowering the rear headrests was probably the first mod on my MINI! Thanks for the reminder!

You're welcome. Lowered, they do improve my rear vision. I'm
also getting used to those blind-spot 'side' mirrors which also are
helpful. Home Shopping Network (HSN) had two pairs for $19.95
and they are good quality, encased in black plastic.

Thank you, it's looks better with the head rest down when the top is down as well.
