I went to wash my car yesterday and saw this on both sides of the car. Look at the top of the chrome on the headlight ring. Has anyone else had this issue?
I figured I would raise as an issue at the dealership.
First time I've seen that. Definitely would take it to the dealer. If they won't cover it I have a set of head and tail light trim rings FS in the classified section. The dealer should step up though.
You are getting delamination between the chrome plating and the plastic base material, likely due to poor surface treatment or contamination on the plastic. If water wicks between the two surfaces, this is the general type of failure you will see. Definitely a quality related failure and should hopefully be covered under warranty.
I had this same peeling issue. Mentioned it to my SA and they replaced both rings.
Also.....last time I took my car in the SA mentioned that the gloss black front bumper (in the center of the grill) was faded, and they replaced for free. I didn't even notice it before.
