how to lift JCW and put on Floor Jacks
I don't get it, if Mini has special lift locations, then how the #@!! are you supposed to lift the vehicle and sit on on floor jacks?
I wanted to get the jack pad adaptor, but I see that as useless since I want to use floor jacks when working under the vehicle or when it is stored for winter.
Insight please

They are the lift points for the jack that came with or you could buy for your car. I would not put floor stands there. There are other places once you raise the car...Also raising the front will lift the back off the ground so I suppose you could get a floor stands in the rear position.
I use a floor jack and floor stands....never a floor jack when under the car. Just occurred to me do you mean floor stands when you say floor jack?

clarity, yes
I say a floor jack, as in to raise the vehicle up off the ground. It is hydraulic, and I would never work under a vehicle supported only by a hydraulic floor jack. I have seen first hand a brand new, $200+ hydraulic floor jack blow it's seal and drop the vehicle.
I would support the vehicle by a floor jack, or jack stand. It's set, and fixed at a predetermined height, and the vehicle is then lowered by the hydraulic jack. Hence vehicle is supported by floor jack or jack stands.
After much reading, I am under the impression that the vehicle can be lifted by the centre of the front or rear axle. I am gathering that the trick is, to be sure to slide the hydraulic jack in a position that doesn't catch or damage a bolt from the front or rear cross member.
I think the design is really meant for a mechanics hydraulic lift, hence I need to buy one LMAO.

I'll bet I've posted this blog page on this forum 50 times for just this un-explored question.
Scroll down to blimey's blog entry 'How a stud lifts a MINI'. I cut a 2 X 4 to length 8 years ago and use it many time a year for tire rotation and detailing the undercarriage.
