Chrono package

Fellas,

Can you please tell me if the chrono package gauge cluster would be plug and play for an 06 JCW GP? I realize I wouldn't have a speedometer other than the digital in my tach, but I wonder if everything else would plug up (i.e. All the plugs are there and ready to go).

Thanks for your help!

Danny

No, quite the opposite. It is quite difficult and requires coding after you do the wiring too. You're better off getting the aux gauges kitfor around the rev counter or next to the cup holders and something like the PLX DM-6.

Parts would all have to be new...Basicly NLA, or you will get a vin# mismatch, and mileage mismatch...the info is stored in the ecu AND the clusters....one or two places have claimed to be able to find ways to reflash used ones to match a used car...but those places never seemed to stay around...kinda think they were operating in a grey area or simply failed cause it did not work...
Once you do the swap, you would need to get the car reprogrammed too...dealers would providevZERO guarantee BACK IN THE DAY WHEY THEY DID THE SWAP....hint...they like a sure thing...
I suggest you switch cars if you really want it ..or add aftermarket...
Many have tried...but info is sketchy if it ever 100% worked...
Remember ALL 3 CLUSTERS need to be swapped since the positions of the warning lights are different...

Fellas, thanks for taking the time to explain... I won't be changing cars, that's for sure - absolutely love the GP, just always thought the chrono package was so cool... Anyhow, thanks again!
