JCW Bulbs upgrade

no, it's all direct wired to the connector inside the overhead console - not the mirror itself. there's a thread on here somewhere that i used as the instructions a while back.
overhead console is easy to remove. the main cap pops off and the assembly under the cap only has 2x t15 torx screw and voila everything comes off. it's how you replace the front map light bulbs also.

AWESOME PHOTOS ****!!!! YOU'VE GOT THAT ESCORT WIRED INTO THE MIRROR ON THE JCW??? HOW WOULD I DO THAT WITH MY MIRROR? IS THERE AN EXTERNAL FEED ON THAT REAR VIEW???
ALSO - NOTICED THIS PICTURE ON YOUR IPHONE
is that part of the Escort detection software app? possibly a K band coverage indicator??!?!?! or is it extra? I'll pay extra! hahaha

You don't do anything with the mirror so you don't have to worry. It's just one 12V source wire that is tapped into in the overhead console and 1 ground tap via a screw location. Very simple ;-)

I made a mistake in my list of bulbs. For the front 2 map lights, I used these: JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 5730 SMD 194 168 175 2825 W5W T10 LED Bulbs,Xenon White(Brightest T10 Bulb in the market) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JIEX722/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_-mI6vbMVPQA6H
To replace the front map lights is easy and does not require you to remove the overhead console. Just pop off the clear lense. Be careful not to break the tabs on the outer edge. Pull the stock bulbs down and insert the new LED bulb.

No problem
I decided to change the single dime light to red LED so ordered a couple red ones. Right now I have too much xenon white for the interior lol...4 map lights + 2 footwell lights + 1 dome. Want a red glow above when I open the door to contrast the 2 footwell whites.

Changed the dome light from xenon white LED to red LED. Too much white before so now I feel horny opening the door cuz it's like a strip joint.
Xenon white LEDs are in for: 4 map lights, 2 footwell lights, 2 door courtesy lights, 2 parking/DRL lighys, 2 license plate lights, 1 trunk light, and 1 backup light. Freaking bright blinding whites haha!

I like the yellow color of your fogs. I'm looking to swap out my fogs, hoping to find LED's that were white but not crazy bright. I'm reading reviews of LED fog lights giving off too much glare to on coming traffic. I actually just ordered the same parking lights you have. Unfortunately my MCS doesn't have xenon headlights, otherwise I'd go yellow too. I just don't want 3 different colors coming from the front. Looks like you have some good lighting experience and trust JDM Astar... What would your opinion be on their 800 lumen super bright chipset H8? The reviews on their 1200 lumen H8's didn't sound good because of the glare and light spread. I want the crisp look of white lighting but I also don't want to **** people of and attract any negative attention. Any input would be appreciated!

Yes, parking lights sit right above the fog light in the same housing. They are very yellow and dull. I think I found the fix for those with a error free LED bulb. The fog lights are much brighter but pretty much just as yellowish. I often drive (dusk & dawn) with just the parking and fog lights on. If I can find a decent LED fog light I may just suck it up and get PIAA's again for the headlights. Trying to get the correct color and brightness and avoid changing out 4 halogen headlight/fog lights every year. LED's should last a lot longer.

I have not tried JDM Astar's H8 chipped LED. I tried another brand's H8 LED for the fogs and hated it. It wasn't bright enough and was orange. I chose the halogen bulbs I've listed for my fogs because they're bright and I rally yellow like I wanted. Also, I didn't want to mess around with additional wiring for full LED fogs...not worth my time. I don't think there are many H8 regular LED bulbs that would be bright enough for fogs IMHO. Plus, I think very bright LEDs run too hot in the fog light area which is not very big.
I'm very happy with the H8 halogens I've listed above...cheap for a pair at $16.
The JDM Astar error free one for my parking lights are excellent xenon white and bright, not like my HID headlights of course. All bulbs I've replaced with LEDs listed above have been working flawlessly for over a week.

Those brake air scoops require removal of the bumper to replace. I opted not to go that route and plasti dipped mine red. So much easier ;-)
