I love my cloth seats. My last '04MCS had leatherette, and they cracked. Cost me $100 to repair.

Wow, I've acually had better luck with leatherette than the real leather.

But yeah, I'm happy with my decision to go with the JCW checkered cloth seats this time around, hearing so many people say they like them.

haha... of course I'm dying to get my hands on my new JCW !! If I didn't have my teenager who can't take his driver's test until August, I'd by really chomping at the bit !

Not sure what week I'm going into production yet. Don't even have my number yet. Got an email from my MA yesterday with a copy of the order he submitted. Guessing I'll get the production number any day now.

I told him the day I ordered it, he should be very excited about my new JCW MINI. His eyes lit up. And then I said, "yeah, you'll love the feel of it's speed as your sitting in the passenger seat". LOL...but true. He won't drive it until he's at least 25. That's a machine not meant for a teenage boy.

The 2005 R50... now THAT one is perfect for him.

Isn't that abnormally long between order time and production start date ?

Cool for you !! Your MINI's birthday ! Although I've always considered the day I pick my MINI up as its birthday.

I thought it was also a long spread between the order date and production..I am going to call ask mini and find out more here.. But the part that im really wondering about is the time to ship it...sometimes it gets shipped quick while others sit at port for awhile... Im hoping mine moves right from port to ship!! wishful thinking maybe???

Average at port is probably about a week, unless your train with the car shows up at port like two days before the ship leaves. Then it might go right on.

It's really all about timing. Monitor when your car finishes production, then look to see when the next ship leaves for your port. Are you east or west coast?

Automated Ask MINI has info that's as outdated as the website's Owner's Lounge.

Their customer service reps are gone for the day. Check with them after 9:00 a.m, EST. They'll be able to tell you exactly where your MINI is in the process.

Is it OK if I live vicariously thru you and get excited along with you since mine will be delivered well after yours? Will make my wait seem shorter. I hope!

Check out you tube videos, it helps
Also save the pic from the configurator and put it on your phone to salivate over.
