Sprint Booster

Hey guys....I was surfing Mini Mania's web site and came across the Sprint Booster, apparently it has three settings well two really the first setting is off, then it has sports program (improved response) and third race program (improved response aggressive driving) for the track i guess,it's supposed to cut out lag on throttle response. So i was wondering and i could be wrong isn't that what the sports button supposed to do ??...Anybody installed one of these I'd be interested to know how good or bad they are .

IMO it was night and day and I would NEVER drive without it again. There also is SPEC-1 d which is similar. Like he said there are many users and a lot of people who claim it does not work. Again IMO those are the ones who have not used either. You can get a 30 day trial, so just order it and never look back.

Thanks for the heads up guys, still trying to decide on the Sprint booster or a full tune up. I have a 2013 JCW coup and loving it but im a little disappointed with the sports button i can definatley feel the steering tighten up which is cool but as far as better throttle response i dont feel it.

I dont think you can get it tuned just yet because I don't think anyone can do it yet.

The Sprint Booster works perfect to improve throttle response. The sport mode does improve throttle response, but you can have the sprint booster on with sport mode on too and have even better throttle response.
FYI we have them in stock too, and usually cheaper than Mania

I have a D1 7 Drive and recommend it over the Sprint Boost. There are more settings and it is much cheaper than the Sprint Booster.

You can get them at Greasy's Garage

I got my sprint booster in 2012 jcw and love it. If you like a lite pedl this is a nice cheap mod. It goes well with my helix intercooler, access port, jcw cai and akrapovic exhaust.

I've had 3 of them on 3 Minis. Have 2 right now on my Minis and both are fairly high mods and tuned and they work fantastic and I wouldn't even consider not having them. Besides I think there's a 30 money back gty so you really can't lose. Bet you won't send it back!!

you have to be one of the very few who ever admitted it works on a tuned MINI. My hat is off to you.

I wonder if I will want to keep my SB after my ECU tune. If a tune can accomplish the same sensitivity (as I've been told.) then I was thinking about selling the SB.

I guess you will have to try for yourself.

Putttn seems to think it works for him after mods and a tune, so maybe it will work for you.

I have an 08 R52 but this is not listed on Way's website. Would I just choose the R53?

It does what a tune doesn't, it advances the throttle pedal sensitivity, so yes, it will work after a tune. My MINI is tuned with a Spec D1 7Drive on it and it works great.

Yes they are the same, the only difference is AT or Manual Trans.

I had my 02 tuned before I installed the SB and I got the standard, "you won't/don't need it because the tuner will take care of it". I ran the car without it for a few weeks, decided to try it and I was totally satisfied I'd made the right decision and wasn't going to return it for a refund. I then put it on two more cars....again before they were tuned...got the same story...got the same results...totally satisfied & a marked improvement. If you can't feel the difference after turning it off then you've got to have a "numb butt". You realize there are 3 settings..Off-Green light-Red light. Red light being very agressive/responsive. Two cars are fairly well modded and the other had a 15% pulley, CAI, Catback so lightly modded. I have it on my 05 R52 now.

I know that I'm in the minority here, but I have to respectfully voice my opinion on these doo-dads. I hate them. They make the cars harder to drive well, without any performance gain. That having been said, most people who have gotten them are happy, so don't let me spoil the party.

That was one of the other reasons that I liked the 7 Drive over the Sprint Booster. There are more settings so you can remove the throttle lag without over doing it.
