That is just the basic MCS steering wheel with red stiching. Even though it comes as standard on the JCW it is not actually the JCW steering wheel being discussed.

I am very aware of that. I was trying to convey that I really like my JCW steering wheel. It is not as nice as the JCW Alcantra steering wheel, but it works for me. It still provides that tactical feel I like.

I am glad that you are aware of that as nowhere in your previous post do you point that out. I am pointing that out for the benefit of less knowledgable folks should they see your post and not realize that fact, since you didn't happen to mention it.

+1. That steering wheel is the exact same wheel that comes on every MINI (except with red stitching).

I have been looking at getting the real (aka fatter) JCW wheel for some time, and the price at Sewell is the best yet. Thanks to the ones who posted the info.

Love the stripes. I used to have the same type as you only black on white but they were getting a little tattered so I took them off. Actually, mine were JCW stripes. Seeing yours has me thinking about reapplying them once again. I like how they came down across the hood and in the front at an angle. Gave it a little differenet look from the more common stripe pattern.

I didn't realize thet the wheel shown above came on every MINI (sans the red stitching) but I did know that it was the same as that which came on my MCS. Get the "real" JCW steering wheel (either type). You won't regret it. I wouldn't have any other wheel on mine.

Thanks for the comments about the stripes. Surprisingly, after four years and 47,000 miles, only one has a slight nick a few mm wide and is not noticeable from a few feet away. I've been contemplating changing them but since they still look good I'll keep them until they get worse.

And back to the steering wheel, I think I'm going to pick one up. Almost everyone gives it rave reviews. Thanks for the persuasion.
