JCW Tuning Kit

Hi,

So I finally pulled the trigger> I am getting the JCW tuning kit installed on my 2009 MCS. I know several of you have done the same here. What did you do with the stock parts? I have only 9K so far on the car. Can I sell the exhaust and the filter? if yes, what is it worth?

thank you

Sure I will. Any feedback on what to do with the stock parts? The stock exhaust still looks new.

JCW tuning Kit

Alright.. finally got my kit installed today.

Exhaust Sound – Awesome, sounds deep and smooth. The car felt quite and smooth in cruising speed, then a burst of deep sound when accelerating.
Acceleration – Did notice a push on 1st and 2nd. However I noticed a huge difference in 3rd, 4th and 5th after the upgrade.
Overall I am happy with the 2K spent on this upgrade. Got in the car smiling… few WOW’s on the way... Got off the car smiling until I saw my wife start questioning about my irrational choice

Can you upload some video off the kit sound?! Maybe during launch and cruising, I am interested in the same exact kit but I was worried about the excessive noise during cruising...

I can't imagine the stock parts are worth very much. Glad to hear you are happy with the Stage 1 upgrade.

Congrats on the kit. I'll probably go down that road in the spring. How do you like the exhaust sound at idle? Any hint of the burble/bop or no?

How did you managed to get it across the border? Did you go there to get it in person or had it shipped somehow? I am surprised you didn't have to pay any customs and duties given the size and price tag! Let me know what you did, cuz I am planning to get the JCW Brembo Brake Kit next year and if I can get it across the border with no customs and duties, I'd be a very happy man!

Can you just get the tune? Since I got Alta intake and will buy exhaust so really don't need others.
Can Alta AccessPort ECU return to stock tune in case the car need to come in for some service?

Thank you to Air Canada. I fly to NJ once a month for work. So I brought the kit on the way back. Had to pay customs duty at Pearson.

Wow, I thought Customs and Duties are usually around 30-40% in total. If it's just 7%, I should buy things from the states too! And maybe I will pay you and you could bring things back for me too? LOL!!!

I had to pay taxes in NJ which was 7% and then customs in Canada charged me 13% for 1200. So the kit cost me with install about 2200 CAD including taxes. So I don't think I saved a lot. If you are in Canada you should be able to get the kit installed under 2500 including taxes.

Hmmm...in that case I will have to reconsider then...but yeah, the only thing left that I would want to get from US would be the JCW Brembo Brake Kit. I got the JCW Tuning Kit from Jason last year for $2000CAD + Tax installed when they had a promotion.

You could have bought the kit in Delaware tax free! Very close to wherever in New Jersey.

Interesting since I just had the JCW stage 1 installed on my 2008 MCs a few days ago, and I get NO pop or burble sounds. Just a deeper throatier sound. I'll take some video on Sunday, my next day off.

Did you do anything to the exhaust in addition to the cat back install of the new JCW exhaust?

SuperGreg.. Nope, did nothing...but I was told my exhaust needed time to settle in and something about the exhaust tip area will expand and come out more from the back? "I mean not so tuck inward toward the engine"?? I didn't measure it, so I'm not sure... I made this video after 2-3 months and 1,096 mile trip .. so I think my JCW Stage 1 install is settled in
