2011 JCW Aero changes
2011 JCW Aero changes
I know that I've seen the 2011 JCW Pepper White with the Red roof and mirrors, but my question is: Has anyone actually seen changes in the JCW Aero Exterior Package for 2011 yet? From what I can see on that Pepper White JCW, there appears to be no changes. The rear fog lights look the same, the changes in the grille for the brake ducts done last year look the same. Are there any changes?
It's bad enough that it appears that Mini/BMW thinks that because their sales for the JCW package has been lacking, so their answer is to leave this model, pretty much the same. Including NOT adding the engine upgrades that they are already committed to with the Mini S. Let's see: Supposedly they sold 560 JCW's in 2009, probably 300 for the 2010 season, maybe they are shooting for 150 for 2011? It sure looks that way.

I think that with 3 new models imminent and the R56 due for complete replacement in 2013 they figured that making changes to the look of the JCW aero package wouldn't be sufficient to boost sales. The other undeniable issue is that the JCW package is rather expensive and they are competing against a slew of aftermarket performance upgrades that cost less money.
Worksdriver,
I could agree with you except that the materials in make, or modifying the JCW Aero kit wouldn't entail all that much work, or expense. And, the new Mini's all will have the new LED combination tail lights that have no provisions for a back up light. What is Mini/BMW going to do about that? Use the old tail lights maybe? As for Mini's cost in the JCW Aero package, well I doubt very much if their cost is much different between the new Mini S package and the JCW Aero package.
