JCW Suspensions differences
Suspensions differences
Hey,
I'm planning to buy a new Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works 2010
A small question I have,
Are the suspensions that comes with the John Cooper Works, good enough or should I add and take the sport suspensions that comes with a extra payment?
Is the stock suspensions that comes at the John Cooper Works is not too soft?
Is the sport suspensions is not too stiff?
I currently have a Cooper S 2004, I would like to know the feeling and the performance differences between the stock suspensions and the sport suspensions in the new JCW, compared to the suspensions at My 2004 Cooper S.
And of course I would like to receive some recommendations witch suspensions to select.
Thanks!

I am not sure if the USA configurations differ from yours.
But generally, there are three suspensions available:
1. Stock suspension with is used as standard on the MC, MCS and factory JCW
2. Sport suspension which is avialable for all models which is a milder upgrade and no lowering. This is an option actually put on at the factory and is the low cost alternative.
3. JCW suspension which is an option on all models which is the most aggressive (including lowering slightly) of the OEM suspension tunes available for all models as well. This is a mod that is generall done at the dealership.

Thanks for the quick response,
My dilemma is between
1. Stock suspension
or
2. Sport suspension
witch suspensions are the most recommended? Especially after I got used to the R53 suspensions.
JCW Suspensions too expensive and probably will not be so comfortable for our roads.

The standard suspension in an R53 ("sport suspension plus") feels stiff compared to an R56, even its sport suspension. I don't think you'll find it harsh in comparison, but it depends on how much comfort you want.
