JCW carbon shift **** for R56 does it come with the slot piece or wrong part

I just received a JCW carbon shift ****. I'm hoping for a R56 MCS. But when I look into it there is no "plastic slot piece" that goes into the shift shaft just a hollow ****.

Do I have the wrong part? Or do you take the slot piece off the stock shift ****?

I have the JCW CF/Alcantara shift ****. It's a direct replacement. Pull the OEM **** off the shifter and boot, push the JCW **** back on.

The inside of the JCW **** doesn't look to have anything to pull on it's hollow - is the one I have for an R53? I thought the R56 had a groove /slot inside the shift ****.

It's been a while since I installed mine, but the JCW **** is much taller than the OEM one, so I think the groove is pretty deep to keep the shifter at a similar height. Try shining a light into it and see, or just push the dang thing all the way down until it seats in place. IIRC, you have to push down pretty hard to get it to seat all the way.

Ok I'll check tonight - thanks. Maybe the slot is farther down in there.
