All 17" R56 wheels fit over JCW brakes?

I seem to recall that the R53 JCW brakes are the same size as the R56 brakes. So does that mean that all stock wheels that come on R56 MCS models will clear my R53 JCW brakes? I need a set of wheels for snow tires and would prefer some stockers...

...edited for clarity but title is still wrong

Go to the MINI USA website and build a JCW car and see what wheels they let you add to your package. Also, to confirm, I'd talk to a dealership before you buy a set from someone.
STLMINI, I believe he was talking about changing wheels on R53 JCW Brakes, not the new R56 factory JCW brakes. Building a JCW MINI on the current website is a totally different animal than what minintrigue says he has.

In which case, the answer is yes. All OEM 17" wheels (and 18" wheels of course) will fit over the R53 JCW brakes just fine in terms of clearance. After all, the stock R56 Cooper S brakes essentially ARE the R53 JCW brakes, just without the red paint and logo.

The only thing you may have to worry for R56 wheels about is the bolt size, I think (since they change it up for the 2nd Gens) - but minintrigue asked about clearance.

Edge is right - I am looking to clear R53 JCW brakes however I need to know if all stock 07 and newer MCS wheels will clear my brakes? There is a set of stock 16" wheels from a gen 2 car in the classifieds that I'm interested in. I asked the wrong question initially so my apologies.

16" R56 wheels that fit over JCW brakes

Yes they will fit.

Prior to the introduction of the R56 the only factory authorized 16 inch wheels for the R53 JCW Brakes
were the R-87 Double Spoke winter wheel and the R94 Bridge Spoke wheel.

The R-84 X-Lite will work but is not authorized due to cooling issues.

Since the introduction of the R56 any wheel that is on the configurator
for a MCS will fit R53 JCW Brakes and the bolt size is of no concern.

Hope this helps...
