JCW Aero

What are most shops charing for paint and installing? I do have option to get it through the VDC when my car arrives... but they wont give me oem parts back.

So i looked at Morristown price of $1250 + $68 (s&h). Cheapest I have found. Dealer wanted to charge me $2250 installed. Now having said that I guess i can sell oem parts and recoop some money (or keep it just in case)

You think most reputable body shop can paint and install for $1000? Maybe paint the arches too at extra cost? any ballpark figure? Or i guess i can install it myself (if labor cost is gonna be a lot) with help of local NAM members (Ill pay them a little and buy them lunch and beer )

anyone can vouch for VDC paint quality? i know the dealer will not be using their own 3rd party bodyshop to install this since the kit is installed at the VDC before reaching the dealer...

A few things. My JCW aero kit arrived today. The price at Morristown is actually a good price.

We do most of the bodywork for Acura, Lexus and some Mini work for the local dealers. Since we get 25% off list, I thought I could get some money off the $1250 bucks.

Turns out, list price is 1400 and some bucks. My cost is $1250 bucks. Only good thing, I don't have to pay for shipping.

Having said that, it would cost roughly 800/900 bucks to paint front and rear bumpers and side skirts.

Installation would roughly be roughly 300-400 bucks to install those parts. (I'm ballparking since I'm not at my estimating program at the shop)

Point is, the price you were quoted is about right for what we'd charge at my bodyshop.

HTH's,

Mark
