New JCW owner, can't drive it yet

Hi all,
Just bought a 05 JCW this week, I haven't been able to drive it yet as it needs some minor repairs to be driveable.

The car has approximately 65K miles, any issues I need to worry about? Oh yeah, is there such a thing as a factory JCW vs dealer add-on? I'm just learning about the JCW, I was looking for a MCS and ran across this JCW for such a good price I couldn't resist.

The only year JCW was available from the factory was 2006. There have been various JCW kits, 2006 cars could be either, other years would be one or more of the kits (in later years upgrade kits were available to add to earlier kits too).

There will be a factory JCW starting in 2009.

Ah, thanks. I'm not sure what mods it has, the engine has all sorts of JCW labled stuff and the brakes also.

If you see three JCW labeled parts in the engine and have the brakes too then you probably have the complete engine kit and the brake kit, which is equivalent of the 2006 factory JCW except probably for the limited slip differential which was included with the factory JCW and most likely is not installed on your car.

Cool, I'm going nuts waiting to get the car fixed and being able to drive it.

Uh oh, may have a blown tranny. Mechanic says that 2-3 gear change makes "noise"

Update: Got the car today and it runs perfect. mechanic is an idiot
