MCS vs JCW supercharger

Besides the pulley... What is the difference with the internal workings?

It depends on the year. 05, 06 & 07 (verts) are one and the same. Prior to that (02 - 04) the vanes in the s/c are coated differently.

Is 05 - 07 better than 02 - 04? I have to buy a replacement... And having minimal sc knowledge... what are vanes? And how does the coating benefit?

Supposedly teflon coating on the vanes (the things in the middle of the SC that spin and create the boost) which helps sealing - i.e. less pressure lost, more boost.
All else equal, better to get the '05+
