Interior/Exterior My DIY Rear Seat Delete!! Enjoy!!
My DIY Rear Seat Delete!! Enjoy!!
So over the past 4 days I have constructed my rear seat delete. I really just copied from another NaMer that built his own and it came out fantastic so I tried to bite his idea as much as possible. I wanted a perfectly flat surface rather than one with an incline so thats what I got. Its perfectly level, fully insulated and carpeted. I left an opening where the battery is so I still have access and it doubles as a place to put little things so they aren't just rolling around. It is made from 3/8" Plywood, couple 2x4's, glue, insulation, and carpet. Hope you guys like it.
I have thought about doing this the only thing that bugs me is that now the rear interior panels look like there missing something, its not smooth and OEM looking like it is in the GP. The buckle and parts from where the seat would have been are still there just SANS the actual seat. If i were going to do it i would want to have replacement panels that make it look as if it has always been that way. I thought about seeing if i can get the interior panels from a GP, but i bet that would be expensive.
The carpet is nearly an exact match to Lapis blue interior, it really looks sharp, especially in person. The cubby doesn't actually come out, I just framed around it and carpeted it. Its really just a little stationary cubby box but you can lift out the carpet piece to still get to the battery very easily.
