Fog lights behind lower bumper grill

I have the PIAA driving light kit but i want to put some yellow fog lights behind the bottom grill so that they are pretty much out of sight, but still functions. Has anyone done this and not had adverse effects with things like the plastic grill melting? Is there even room to be able to do this?

MINI has an upgrade kit for this for the OEM fogs. It ain't cheap but it works.
