Have any of you put a tandem bicycle on your Mini? A normal (double triangle) tandem is going to be almost 2/3 the length of the car.

The main problem I would see is finding a mount large enough to hold the tandem. Yakima and others make them for their rack systems, but I don't know if one could create something like this for the MC.

Tandem on Mini

I know this post is two years old, but haven't seen any other responses. I just got some good info from Charlie Buchalter at ATOC (they make the Tandem Topper.) Turns out you can get BMW mounting hardware that will make the Tandem Topper sit solidly on the factory bars. It is not tested by ATOC as of October, 2005, but it's the best mount I've seen for the Mini. Goes on really easily, and look more solid than any of the Yak or Thule setups.
